It’s been a busy year for VAIOT. Our efforts have been focused entirely laying the foundations of and the development of the AI Legal Assistant. Quite a lot has happened already this year, and there is a lot more to come. In the meantime, let’s recap what we have built over these last few months! If you’re unaware with where we set our goals at the beginning of this year, please take a few minutes to read why 2023 is the most important year for VAIOT!

March: Getting the Process Started

Starting off our recap in March, we must explore our Giveaway Contracts, Polygon Mainnet, and the designing of the entire structure of the front and backend of the AI Legal Assistant application.

Giveaway Contracts

VAIOT’s first use of Intelligent Contracts, allows any crypto influencer, content creator, marketing specialist, or project founder to run social media engagement campaigns and award participants for actions taken. You can create an automated giveaway blockchain contract that allows for the rewards distribution process automation and random allocation of the rewards for the winners thanks to the integration with the Chainlink Oracle. Over the course of March, we offered potential top testers a prize pool of $2000 in $VAI in exchange for finding bugs, sharing suggestions, and getting involved through our dedicated JIRA-based web platform, Telegram feedback chat, and of course by testing the platform on testnet. All feedback, bugs, and suggestions were logged and integrated, and the Giveaway Contract platform itself was put on developmental hold until the AI Legal Assistant could be completed. The main purpose of the campaign was to test our use of Intelligent Contracts.

Over the course of the campaign we received:
231 Development Suggestions, 70 bug reports, and 45 contracts were created.

VAIOT and Polygon: A Perfect Match for Mainnet

VAIOT’s integration with the Polygon ecosystem, marked a significant milestone in our mission to revolutionize the legal services landscape through blockchain-based AI Assistants. After thorough analysis and considering various factors, VAIOT made the strategic decision to switch to Polygon Edge and integrate with the Polygon mainnet network for its blockchain services and product development. The integration with Polygon enables VAIOT to leverage Ethereum scalability, fast and affordable transactions, interoperability with other blockchains, and user-friendly development tools. Additionally, Polygon’s security, as an economic hub, ensures a high level of protection for both VAIOT and it’s users. Unlike a typically known “mainnet launch” we did not launch a new forward facing service or token, instead this launch was mainly private and for our development team to be able to start building our Assistant platform properly.

So what was actually launched?

  • VAIOT’s Private Blockchain: VAIOT started utilizing Polygon Edge to build a private blockchain for contract data processing, ensuring data integrity, privacy, and faster transactions. This private blockchain now stores data generated by VAIOT’s contract generation solutions and thus enabling users to access and review their smart contracts through a dedicated platform.
  • VAI Single Asset Staking: VAI Single Asset Staking launched, allowing users to earn passive income by staking VAI Tokens in the pool and receiving rewards based on stake amount and duration.
  • VAI on SushiSwap: To provide additional availability of VAI on Polygon network, VAIOT added liquidity on SushiSwap decentralized exchange (DEX).

What can be done in the future because of this?

  • VAI Payback Integration
  • Public Contractual Data Storage
  • Polygon ID Integration
  • Decentralized Dispute Resolution

In the background, while all of this was happening, our development team was hard at work developing the initial structures and functions of both the front and backend of the entire application. The month of March was jam packed with important first steps in the AI Legal Assistants development!

April: Diving Deep with the AI Legal Assistant

As we stepped into Q2, VAIOT proudly presented the Lightpaper for the AI Legal Assistant. This marked yet another crucial milestone, as all previous efforts had been geared towards preparing for the release of this transformative product to the world. The Lightpaper outlined the vision and capabilities of the AI Legal Assistant, setting the stage for an exciting journey ahead. Read it here VAIOT_AI_Legal_Assistant_Lightpaper.pdf

In our tweets on development we simply said that we improved the frontend of the Assistant, but in fact it was rewritten from Angular to React in April because Angular was not suitable for the application with which the blockchain was supposed to work. We also created a PDF creator specifically made for our Assistants that is the part of the app responsible for creating a PDF from the terms of the contract and the template. We also created a combination of frontend and backend when it comes to chat mechanics. It was in April that you could start talking to the Assistant using text prompts or buttons.
Throughout April, the development team made significant progress, including testing the AI Assistant’s ability to accept multiple wallets, improving frontend web application styling, and setting up base endpoints for the backend. Efforts were also dedicated to connecting wallet support for Metamask, Coinbase wallet, Portis, and Walletconnect.
April was THE month for the Assistant’s first steps and features. From creating the basics of the frontend, backend and creating a frontend connection to the database.

And last, but certainly not least, we launched our Polygon Single Assets Staking platform! The $VAI Staking Service is available on the Polygon network and it is governed and delivered to the user through stake.vaiot.ai — VAIOT’s existing staking portal. You can read more about the platform here.

May: Integrating Payments & Voice Chat

In May, VAIOT focused on user experience and interactions. The team worked on clarifying entities and intentions in the Assistant’s database using Microsoft’s CLU, ensuring that the AI Assistant could accurately interpret user inputs and provide appropriate responses.

Additionally, VAIOT explored the exciting potential of voice chat with the Assistant. Speech-to-text mechanisms, voice recording, and optimizations for voice chat were actively pursued, promising an enhanced user experience.

Integrating payments into the Assistant was a significant development, and VAIOT sought user feedback to refine the process.
Two options were considered: implementing a question and answer format for payments, or using a clickable widget for faster interactions. This demonstrated VAIOT’s commitment to user-centric development. Despite May not being an outwardly exciting development month, the sheer amount of items completed within the Assistant led to us to be able to produce the following video on the last day of the month of May, the first true look at the AI Legal Assistant!

June: Advancements and Testing

June saw a series of advancements in VAIOT’s technology stack. The team integrated data validation for collected user inputs and focused on adding new contract fields. Pre-written automated tests for backend and frontend were introduced, ensuring stability and correctness.
June also saw the advent of VAIOT’s Contract Reader, one of the cornerstones of the Legal Assistant. The Contract Reader offers a seamless and user-friendly interface for examining and decrypting the terms and conditions of smart contracts created through the AI Legal Assistant. It presents agreements in a visually appealing format, ensuring easy access to crucial contract data. Additionally, users can enhance transparency by obtaining a special certification confirming that their contract terms are recorded on the blockchain.

The Contract Reader’s functionality includes smart contract decryption, allowing users to easily access and review the contents of their contracts on the blockchain. It also generates visual representations of contracts, making complex terms easily readable even for non-programmers. The interface seamlessly displays contracting parties’ data, eliminating the need for guesswork. Users can confidently download the legal agreement directly from the app, ensuring transparency and authenticity. For added security, users have the option to purchase an enhanced certification, protecting their agreement from counterfeiting attempts.
