So, you have received your brand-new $VAI on the Polygon chain, and now you wonder: “how do I get these assets to the Ethereum chain?”. Well, that’s simple, and in this article, we will explain precisely how you go about this. But first, for those of you unfamiliar with the Polygon Chain. Polygon is a decentralized Ethereum scaling platform that enables developers to build scalable, user-friendly DApps and smart contracts with low transaction fees without sacrificing security. Thus, an excellent choice for VAIOT.
Please note: to bridge Polygon-based $VAI to Ethereum, you will need to pay a small $MATIC fee for the transaction. VAIOT will be airdropping the funds for a one-time bridge with the $VAI Airdrop.
Using The Bridge, Step-By-Step
Go to: https://wallet.polygon.technology/ and connect your MetaMask wallet by selecting “Connect Wallet” in the top-right menu.
Once connected, you should see your account number or name in the top right, where it used to ask for a connection previously (see image above). Next, select the “polygon bridge” to continue. The Polygon Bridge dashboard will open up, as in the image below.
Now, select “withdraw” on the top right. The automatic chain to be withdrawn from will always be Polygon. But it’s not Polygon $VAI yet. To use this, select the token option. In the token list, select “manage token list”. You will need to enable “Polygon Token List” on the bottom of your screen by moving it from “off” to “on”.
Select “Tokens” and add the $VAI token address, which is: 0xD13cfD3133239a3c73a9E535A5c4DadEE36b395c
Confirm the addresses are correct and select: “add VAI”. Now, you will be able to select the amount of $VAI that you’d like to transfer to the Ethereum chain and select “Transfer” to continue.
Confirm the transfer by signing on your MetaMask wallet. Thereafter, you’re all set!
If you’re not seeing the ETH-based $VAI on MetaMask after the transfer. Visit: https://withdraw.polygon.technology/ connect your wallet, and fill out the transaction hash. It is worth noting that this application can exclusively be used from MetaMask wallet or Wallet Connect. In the wallet, double check that you’re on the Ethereum Network.
Next, in the input box, paste the transaction hash that you did on the Polygon chain to initiate the bridge withdraw. Click on “complete withdraw” and wait for the transaction signing interface to pop open. To confirm the transaction, it is recommended that you not lower the transaction gas fee or gas limit. Once the transaction is completed, you will see a link to the transaction details on Ethereum Network. Do not refresh the screen. Your tokens will be safely withdrawn to your account on Ethereum Network.
