We are excited to announce that VAI Pre-Staking will launch on 25.02.21!
VAI ERC-777 Tokens can now be staked in VAIOT’s Pre-Staking DApp, meaning that you can deposit VAI Tokens to the pool and start passively earning more VAI.
It is considered to be a preparation and the test phase before the launch of actual validation nodes on the network mainnet in Q4 2021. The Pre-Staking Portal can be found here: staking.vaiot.ai

GENERAL INFORMATION
A maximum of 20,500,000 VAI Tokens can be staked during the whole Pre-Staking program. It amounts to around 35% of the total circulating supply at the end of the program (58,432,384 VAI). As the whole token supply will not be available from the beginning, tokens will be accepted for staking according to the following schedule. Taking a 10-wave approach allows controlling the supply available on the market.
Timelines
VAI Token Pre-Staking will start on 25.02.2021.
Rewards will be accumulated from the very beginning. However, withdrawals are not possible until 3 days after the 2nd wave. Meaning that after 2 months, initiations of withdrawals become available.
To withdraw funds, you must initiate a withdrawal, which stops rewards from increasing at that point, and then you have to wait additional 7 days after the initiation to execute the withdrawal and get the funds.
NOTE: you are not able to withdraw your VAI until XX.XX.2021 (approx. 2 months from now) — the exact date will be announced soon
Rewards
During the Pre-Staking there will be a reward for each full day the VAI Tokens were staked, until the day your withdrawal was initiated or until the last day of the program. The initial reward rate will be 17% per year (annualized). However, depending on how much is staked the reward rate will increase by 2%:
0–5,125,000 VAIs staked: 17% annual reward rate
5,125,000–10,250,000 VAIs staked: 19% annual reward rate
10,250,000–15,375,000 VAIs staked: 21 % annual reward rate
15,375,000–20,500,000 VAIs staked: 23% annual reward rate
There will be an individual bonus in form of a 0.2% reward increase for each full day staked. Regardless of the general reward rate of each day: 17%, 19%, 21%, or 23%. The bonus reward is calculated from the base reward.
Example: if on day one the reward rate is 17% on the next day it will be increased by 0.034% meaning your reward will be 17,034% and on the next day by an additional 0.034% it will be 17,068 and so on. [0.17x0.02=0.034%]
We are expecting the Smart Contract to calculate and have rewards enabled for around 9,5 months. However, there will be a maximum of rewards the smart contract will support, 4,500,000 VAIs.
However, if at any time before this maximum is reached, VAIOT, at its own discretion, can choose to disable the rewards to be further calculated, announcing this change through all public available channels and giving enough time for everybody to prepare to claim their rewards and VAIs. Disabling the rewards will just disable any future rewards from the time it was executed; all past rewards will not be affected, and anyone will be able to claim them at all times.
