Beta Test DDRS — 8 NEW Testing Scenarios to Explore

Your Opportunity to Shape the Decentralized Dispute Resolution System (DDRS)

--

We’re thrilled to invite you to the Beta Test Campaign for DDRS (Decentralized Dispute Resolution System) Module 2!

Module 2 introduces completely new features designed to help both parties manage and respond to the complexities of service and transaction handling.

Whether you’re an Ordering Party or a Service Provider, this is the perfect opportunity to put DDRS to the test, help shape the future of decentralized dispute resolution and win rewards in VAI!

We value your participation in making DDRS the best it can be, that’s why…

Top 5 Testers will receive exclusive rewards, including $2000 VAI utility tokens and recognition in the community! 🏆

What’s New in DDRS Module 2?

  • Amicable Dispute Resolution: Collaborate to solve disputes in a fair and efficient manner.
  • Deadline Extension: Adjust project timelines seamlessly when deadlines shift.
  • Forwarding Disputes to Decentralized Jury: Submit evidence submission for Jury Cases to prepare for the decentralized juror system in Module 3.

How to Participate?

  1. Choose your role: Ordering Party or Service Provider.
  2. Test the functionalities by creating real-world transaction scenarios.
  3. Work with a friend or simulate both roles yourself using different wallets.
  4. Explore user stories below to guide your testing or experiment with your own ideas.

Testing Scenarios

Ordering Party

Step into the shoes of an Ordering Party in need of a service, such as a logo design, PR article, or consulting. Use DDRS to define and manage the transaction terms, ensuring transparency and trust.

User Story 1 — Service Issues Uncovered: Amicable Resolution

Imagine hiring a Service Provider for a web application, but the final product has bugs, missing features, and design flaws.

  • Open a dispute to address the issue.
  • Test the Amicable Dispute Resolution feature to negotiate and confirm updated transaction terms through blockchain.
  • Detail the problems, such as missing elements or quality issues. Attach supporting evidence and propose a resolution (e.g., revisions or a refund).

User Story 2 — Jury Intervention

Imagine that you’re not interested in resolving the case amicably, due to various reasons (e.g. poor communication, unmet expectations, or service failures).

When service issues go unresolved, escalate the case to the Decentralized Jury.

  • Select an appropriate jury panel based on your case’s specifics and submit a detailed description, supported by evidence (e.g. emails, screenshots, documents).

Service Provider

Take on the role of a Service Provider ready to deliver exceptional value, whether it’s website design, consulting, or another service. Use DDRS to manage and streamline collaboration with your client.

User Story 3 — Unable to Meet the Deadline

You realize you won’t meet the original deadline for delivering the service.

  • Use the Deadline Extension feature to propose a new timeline.
  • Acknowledge the possibility of adjusting the service price due to delays.
  • Wait for the Ordering Party to accept the new terms and ensure the project continues smoothly (remember that you either have to work with a friend acting as the Ordering Party or act as the Ordering Party yourself using another wallet).

User Story 4 — Disputing Unjust Feedback

The Ordering Party raises a dispute with negative feedback that you believe is unfair.

  • Aim to convince the Ordering Party to revise their feedback, respond to the dispute by outlining how you met the agreed specifications and providing supporting evidence.
  • If the Ordering Party is not convinced, you’ll either have to accept the amicable dispute resolution terms proposed by the Ordering Party or the case will be Forwarded to Decentralized Jury.

User Story 5 — Balancing Expectations: A Service Provider’s Proposal

You recognize that the service you provided may not fully meet the Ordering Party’s expectations, but you believe it still holds value.

  • Use the Amicable Dispute Resolution features to propose a compromise, such as revisions (to better meet the Ordering Party’s expectations, while still ensuring you are compensated for the work you’ve done) or partial compensation.
  • Finalize the process by confirming new terms through a blockchain transaction and updating smart contract in the process.

User Story 6 — Responding to a Dispute Raised to the Decentralized Jury

Imagine that while managing the service, you face challenges caused by the Ordering Party (e.g. delays in providing feedback or changes in the project). These challenges affect service delivery and The Ordering Party raises a dispute and forwards it to the Decentralized Jury.

  • Review their claims and evidence in the jury submission system.
  • Respond with your own evidence to defend yourself (e.g., how their delays and changes impacted the project, communication logs, revised requests)
  • Complete two rounds of evidence submission and await the jury’s verdict (available in Module 3).

What’s Next?
